Canada-Ontario Job Grant (COJG) Program
The COJG program provides direct financial support to individual employers who wish to purchase training for their workforce. Employers choose the individuals they would like to have trained, and the training that meets their workforce development needs. COJG is delivered through cost-sharing agreements between employers and the government.
Employer pays at least one-third of direct training costs. Note: small employers (50 employees or less) have the option to contribute up to 50 per cent of their required contribution in wages paid to training participants. The government covers two-thirds of direct training costs, up to $10,000 per trainee.
Participants also have access to services and supports available through Employment Ontario Employment Service.
The Youth Job Connection and Youth Job Connection: Summer Programs provide financial incentives to employers who provide placements to participants. Incentives are provided to offset the costs of temporary reduction in productivity, increased supervision requirements and other expenses resulting from the placement. Funding amounts and payment schedules will be negotiated, based on the skill level/complexity, as well as the length of on-the-job training. Please contact YJC Program if you are interested in hosting a placement for a Youth Job Connection/Youth Job Connection: Summer Program participant, or would like more information about available supports.
