Are you a young person between the ages of 15 and 29, looking to carve out your career path or dive into self-employment? If so, the “Right Fit For You” program by Job Skills might be just the opportunity you’ve been seeking. This comprehensive 12-week program is tailored to empower youth navigating today’s job market complexities, offering the resources and support needed to thrive.
At the heart of the program is a deep commitment to personalized support. Recognizing that each participant has unique challenges and dreams, the program provides holistic care plans, individual and group counselling, and financial support. This wrap-around approach ensures that every participant receives the guidance and resources necessary to overcome significant employment barriers.
The journey begins with a two-week Career Exploration phase to help you understand your interests and strengths. This phase includes engaging workshops to enhance your soft skills, personality and career interest assessments, essential skills training, and basic computer skills. Whether contemplating a traditional job or considering entrepreneurship, this phase sets a strong foundation.
From there, participants can choose between two distinct pathways: the Employment Stream or the Self-Employment Stream. The Employment Stream is about preparing you for the workforce, offering resume writing assistance, interview preparation, job search training, and more. You’ll receive invaluable career coaching and mentorship, equipping you with the skills and confidence to secure and sustain a job across various industries.
Alternatively, if you’re drawn to entrepreneurship, the Self-Employment Stream is crafted for you. This pathway provides:
- Entrepreneurial workshops.
- Guidance on business plan development.
- Access to networking opportunities and mentorship.
It’s a pathway to help you turn your innovative ideas into successful business ventures.
Eligibility for the program is straightforward: You must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected person legally entitled to work in Canada and self-identify as having a disability. Unfortunately, those awaiting refugee status or holding temporary visas are not eligible.
If you’re ready to take the next step toward a fulfilling career or business venture, consider joining the “Right Fit For You” program. It’s not just about finding a job; it’s about unlocking your potential and paving the way for a successful future.
